Flavorful coffee in Dresden Café Oswaldz

Dresden The city that crosses historical and modern

Excellent steamed milk with good quality coffee

It was my third time to Dresden in January. Dresden is the third largest city in western Germany and capital city of Saxony. Not so far from Czech border. The city has beautiful river Elbe and old traditional buildings, but also the city has sad history due to the Second World War. I heard that an unknown number amount of people got killed because of bombing. (estimated between 35,000 and 135,000 people)

Nowadays the city is full of energy and I can'tt emagine the situation if I didn't know the story.
One of my friend recommended me to visit this café when I come back to Dresden again. And finally I tried their coffee with my daughter and one my friend. It was so good. Cozy atmosphere and tasty cakes and willing staff. We can also see contemporary art there.
Location is just 4 minutes walking from Albert platz.
My daughter likes their interior.

Baking with simple ingredients. "Bolo"

上質でシンプルな材料で焼き菓子を。(Recipe in English)

たまごボーロ。柔らかい口溶けのふんわりボーロは子供の頃を思い出します。
家のキッチンで簡単に作れる大人も子供も大好きなシンプルな焼き菓子のひとつを紹介します。

Popular small cookies in Japan "Bolo"
Bolo (No fluor baking)

"Bolo" means one of the western style baked sweets in Portuguese.
We can buy those small cookies at supermarket and we often give the bolo to small kids in Japan. Of course I also love them so much. And taste of the cookies reminds me of childhood. Why don't you try to bake them at home? With only good ingredients!!

Ingredients (10-15 small portions )
1 egg yolk
80g cornstarch
30g brown sugar
2 tbs of milk
Powdered sugar for coating

Method
1. Preheat oven 160℃ and prepare a large baking sheet.
2. In a medium bowl, Mix all ingredients together and combine everything together with hands. Form the dough in small balls and place on the baking sheet. Spaced at least an inch apart from each other.
3. Bake for 18 minutes. When they are still warm but cool enough to touch, roll the cookies into some powdered sugar. Set aside on a rack to cool completely. When cool, dust again in powdered sugar.
